A Journey Through the Loire Valley and Normandy with the Travelling Librarian

Sunday, February 18

This program will focus on the lush valley of the Loire River in northern France, known for its many Renaissance era châteaux, gentle landscapes, and delicious white wines. We'll also stop at the dramatic medieval island abbey of Mont Saint-Michel, one of France's most visited sites, as well as the coast of Normandy, with WWII era beaches and memorials, along with historic cities and English Channel seaside resorts where you can indulge your inner Marcel Proust and enjoy your fill of apples, cream, and Calvados. About the Speaker: Jeff Klapes has been Head of Reference Services at Wakefield’s Beebe Library for over 20 years, where he is also known as the “Traveling Librarian”.
